217 W 20th Townhouse in Manhattan
With TEN Arquitectos NYC
A dense New York City residential and commercial area full of townhouses creates the context of this single-family, 11,000 sq ft six-story house. Our architectural response was to embrace the small site, which called for a rational and straightforward organization. Positioned between two new 60’ high exterior concrete walls, private and semi-private spaces are linked by a central staircase that runs along a central atrium that opens up the vertical living scheme and provides the house with a light cascade coming from a skylight at the top. I carried the roles of project lead and project architect and worked through all phases of project design including schematic, design development and construction documentation and administration. The project is currently under construction.
